wire twisting and weaving sample

This long chain is made from samples made from twisted wire

A number of different techniques will be covered during this full day workshop. You will start by making some very simple wire twist samples. You will also experiment by combining different twists together to see how different effects can be achieved. Then you will advance through to a more complex way of weaving wire in to a decorative band. Towards the end of the day, when we have completed several twists and weaving techniques – these samples will be made in to a bangle.

There will also be examples to look. This will show you how these different ways of working wire can be used to make other interesting pieces of jewellery.

This is a technique that can be adapted to be very complex or very simple.

  1. cath johnstone

Had a great day twisting and weaving wire – deceptively easy for the most part but the weaving was more challenging. Clear instruction throughout the day so I came away with the bracelet in the picture albeit that it needs a bit of finishing off which I can easily do. I’ll definitely be able to put the techniques learned to good use. Lovely day with likeminded friendly bunch.

  2. jane marshall

A really enjoyable day- I learned lots of different ways to twist and weave wire and came away with a baracelet. Working in copper makes the day affordable and there is the option to get it silver plated if you wish. Lots of help and advice at each stage from the ever patient Angela.

  3. Jane Crowther, Chesterfield

I really enjoyed this class, the day was really well planned and allowed plenty of time for us to do the task and ask for support. Angela managed the time well, thank you. Would recommend tutor and classes

  4. Kath Kearney.

This was another well organised course run by Ange. During the day we learned various techniques for twisting and weaving copper or silver. Then at the end of the day we used them together, made in to a beautiful cuff to take home. I’ll definitely do this again.
