This one day Beginner’s Stone Setting workshop will show you the easiest way to set stones and will give you the basic knowledge needed to be able to progress with the subject at home, or in class after the day. We will make two pieces during this workshop to take home at the end of the day. Students can choose to work in silver or copper and will learn how to set both round and oval cabochon type stones.

Advice regarding specialised equipment needed for working at home will also be available. Materials are extra and payable on the day. Silver or copper can be worked. I thoroughly enjoyed the stone setting day. It passed too quickly!
I feel I’ve really taken to stone setting and by the end was already thinking about what to set next time.
I learned that accidents are ok and just give a different result rather than causing a disaster, in fact my melting accident improved my pendant!
I’ve had LOADS of comments about the ring which I’ve worn constantly.
You are a fantastic teacher with the patience of a saint!

Great course if you want to learn stone setting. There was a great choice of stones to choose from. I can’t wait to make more with stonework from the skills I gained from today.

A really good course – it has given me the confidence to set stones and to incorporate.them into designs. Lots of tips and support along the way and two lovely pieces to take home!

Again another brilliant day.the group was small and we all had great fun with jokes at Anges’ expense.
Easy to follow instructions and demos resulted in a stone set silver ring and stone set silver pendant that looked as if they had been bought! The standard and quality of our work was beyond what we thought we could do and we were all proudly wearing our rings.
We had all tried bezel making before but we learnt so much more. I would encourage everyone to sign up for this course. We were shown tips and techniques to make it easier or give a better result and these will be so useful in all types of jewellery making.
Thanks Ange, a brilliant day with muffins!

Really enjoyed the stone setting course. It was much easier than I’d imagined. I came away with a gorgeous ring & pendant. I get lots of comments about the ring – everyone wants one!

Great class – really great to be able to leave with 2 pieces of jewellery that you can be proud of. I am only sad that I don’t live closer so that I could attend weekly sessions.

Really pleased with making 2 pieces during the day. I think that having a small sized class made it very easy to get on the tools – and have 1:1 help for the soldering. I will definitely be attending more classes and look to attending the weekly class. Great atmosphere and experience of Ange. It has really made me want to set up a workshop at home.

Fabulous – and each step thoroughly covered and repeated as necessary. Never felt to be out of my depth even when not really sure of each step. Found the day helped to build confidence and skills. Will definitely try at home. Amazing tools, equipment and workshop.

Brilliant! Ange worked at a pace everyone could keep up with. She is very patient and if we made a mistake, rather than saying “No that’s wrong” she explained the reasoning behind doing it the way she showed us so that it all made sense. I have been on quite of few of her courses and loved every one. Brilliant course, superb tutor and awesome studio to use. Thanks Ange.
