At Silverpetal Studio our beginner’s silver jewellery taster class is a full day workshop to come along and try silver jewellery making. It is open to everyone and is aimed at individuals who have never tried silver jewellery making before. This is a small class limited to 6 students maximum per course.
It is also an ideal activity day for Hen Parties, Special Birthdays, Mother and daughter days, Women’s Groups, Retired Groups and Team Building Weekends. Whatever the occasion, this workshop is a great opportunity for a fantastic and unusual, creative experience.
This ‘taster’ day is designed to offer a brief introduction to silver jewellery making for complete beginners. It is held at weekends, Saturday or Sunday 10am – 3.00pm. Due to the small class size, each of you receives individual help and attention throughout the day. You will be able to complete your own wonderful pieces of handmade jewellery without any prior knowledge or experience.
During this day you will be given a simple introduction to soldering, learning how to size and make a ring in the morning. Then, during the afternoon you will learn how to construct simple designs. Your designs will then be used either for a pendant or earrings.
You will be able to make a ring and either a pendant or earrings to take with you at the end of the day. It will be an opportunity to just have a go at silver jewellery making at a simple level in a supportive environment.
The price above is inclusive of all materials, including any copper to make prototypes and silver to make the finished projects. Our studio is custom built specifically for jewellery making and is very well equipped. Tea and coffee are included and available at the studio throughout the day. We have a large free car park at the studio. We will finish the day with afternoon tea & cakes.
We have an hour lunch break. A cafe and picnic area are next to the studio where lunch may be purchased or a pack-up may be eaten – weather permitting. There is a cafe at the local Morrisons supermarket a short drive away. The studio is closed and locked at lunch-time.
Silver jewellery making is addictive, and if you enjoy the day you will be able to take the subject further. After completing this workshop you will be able to enrol to attend our 5 week Beginner’s Silver Jewellery Course if you live locally. This offers a more instructive and in-depth look at the subject. (If you are keen to learn silver jewellery making and looking for a complete beginner’s introduction, it is advisable to book this in preference.) We also offer other one day workshops aimed at complete beginners. Subscribe to our mailing list for regular updates about our classes and courses.
There is an extensive tool shop at the Studio selling tool kits. We have beginner’s tool kits and soldering kits, so setting up and continuing after the course is possible. These are available to buy at the end of the day. Help and advice on what to buy is always available if needed. You are welcome to pop in whenever there is a class running.
So book your place today on my Beginner’s Silver Jewellery Taster class and discover the wonderful world of silver jewellery making.
