Terms and Conditions for Courses

FEES

Course fees must be paid in full at time of booking, your place on the course cannot be guaranteed until full payment is received
Fees from students currently attending session can be paid in class by cash or cheque made payable to Silverpetal
Deposits are no longer accepted to secure a place on a course
If you join part-way through an existing term full fee or pay as you go fees apply.
DISCOUNT VOUCHERS OR DISCOUNTED FEES

If you have paid with a voucher this will be taken in to account in the event of a cancellation by you
If you have paid for more than one term and wish to cancel part way through the year then a refund will be issued pro-rata to the length of your attendance time.

Cancellations

BY SILVERPETAL:

Courses have minimum attendance levels and may be cancelled if too few bookings are received.
A refund will be issued for any remaining weeks of term due to class cancellation due to low numbers.
If a class is postponed for reasons for which we are responsible, including bad weather and staff illness, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the class to suit the majority of participants or to add the missed hours on to the remaining course classes.

Cancellations

BY YOU:

If you wish to cancel your place on a course you must in the first instance speak with us to verbally ensure that this is understood.
A written confirmation with a request for any refund due should then be sent by postal mail
Cancellation via e-mail is NOT accepted.
If your written request is received more than 2 weeks prior to the course start date you will be entitled to a refund less an administration charge of £10 to cover re-recruitment costs.
If your written request is received within 2 weeks of the course start date you will not be entitled to a refund unless a replacement student can be found for your place.
If a replacement student is found prior to the course start date, then you will be entitled to a refund less an administration charge of £10.
Refunds are NOT issued for specialist classes or beginner’s weekend courses
Refunds are NOT issued if you have booked on to the wrong class for your ability level

TRANSFERS:

You can transfer to another course if there is a place available.

NON-ATTENDANCE:

Non-attendance of a class or classes due to illness or for personal reasons does not provide the right to any refund, extra tuition or a transfer

PAY AS YOU GO ‘STUDIO TIME’

It is advisable to book pay as you go sessions in advance.
Sessions can only be pre-booked up to 7 days in advance.
Priority is given to students enrolled on classes and you may be turned away from a session if there isn’t a bench available for pay as you go.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

Required equipment and tools will be supplied for use during the classes
Materials for weekly and specialist classes are extra and are not included in the course fee.
Consumables like saw blades, drill bits, emery paper, etc, are not included in the course fee.
Silverpetal reserves the right to exclude individuals seen to be maliciously damaging or abusing tools and equipment supplied for their use, from classes without a refund of fees.

We have an extensive shop at the studio selling tools and materials for jewellery making. Silverpetal reserves the right to exclude individuals seen to be buying their own stocks of materials / tools and selling these in class to fellow students, from classes without a refund of fees.
